Work health and safety with multimedia equipment in the library
Things to consider when using multimedia equipment and services
- Please sanitize hands before using multimedia equipment to prevent spreading germs and maintaining clean equipment. Hand sanitizer can be found next to all computers and throughout the library.
- Do not attempt to move multimedia equipment or furniture without staff assistance. If you require something moved or adjusted, please notify staff who can assist when possible.
- When operating multimedia equipment, consider posture and reduction of eye strain. Take breaks at least once an hour, maintain good posture (back straight and feet flat on the floor) as well as adjusting chairs to ideal height and angle.
- Equipment should be clean and free from dust, mold and at a ideal temperature. Do not operate equipment that is not in a clean and functioning state.
- Do not lay electrical cords across walkways where they can become a tripping hazard. Do not put food or beverages near electrical power points, computers, printers or any other electrical equipment.
